Chairman – Ian Lancaster

I joined Frodsham Players at the end of 2014 after a 20-year gap from amateur theatre, having started out with Wigan Little Theatre, Newtown Players and Hindley & Wigan Amateur Operatic Society. When I returned to the players, it was very much like coming home – everyone was so welcoming & friendly!

Having shown something of an aptitude for social media & marketing, I was asked to join the committee in 2015.

My first production was Macbeth, followed by Ayckbourn’s “Seasons Greetings” and then “The Secret Garden.”  I was delighted to take over as Chairman in 2016 and hope to build on the excellent work of my predecessor, Derinda Watson. My aim is for Frodsham Players to perform top quality productions and to increase our membership year on year.

If you fancy joining us, please get in touch.  We’d love to have you on board!

Vice Chairman / Social Secretary – Carrie Bennett-Brown

I am thoroughly enjoying my role as social secretary. It’s great fun meeting up with fellow members of the players outside of the usual rehearsal time. Where possible we try to support the other local amateur dramatics groups. We also enjoy weekly visits to the pub after rehearsals.

Secretary – Derinda Watson

My first play with Frodsham Players was ‘Pack of Lies’, back in 1990.  I thoroughly enjoyed playing the character of Barbara and found everyone very friendly and welcoming.  I returned again to play Louise in Alan Ayckbourn’s ‘Joking Apart’ in 1997 and have been involved one way or another in every play since.  I think my favourite roles have been Elizabeth Procter in ‘The Crucible’ and Millie Crocker-Harris in ‘The Browning Version’.  I joined the committee and was secretary for a few years before becoming Chairman in 2006.  I also helped run the successful Junior group for 10 years up to 2008. We always have great fun putting on plays, so do come and join us.
